How to get there

By air from Athens, Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos, and from many cities in Europe Heraklion's airport is about 5 kilometers (3 miles) east of the city, along the coast. Major car-rental companies have desks at the airport. A taxi to Iraklion center costs about 6 Euro, and the public bus is 1 Euro.

The journey from Piraeus, to Crete takes about 9 hours on standard ferries, and 6 hours on the high-speed fleets ( Knossos Palace and Festos Palace - of the Minoan Lines).
On the Athens - Crete route, overnight ferries arrive at their destination between 5.00 and 6.30 in the morning.

From the International Airport of Heraklion the Knossos Royal  is 25km away (taxi approx 35 EUR)


By rental car

From the main exit of the airport you will follow the signs to Agios Nikolaos. After 15 km you will meet a big cross road where you have to turn to the right following again the signs Kato Gouves, Old National Road.

In about 10km from that point you will meet another big cross road, where special signs from the hotel are placed in order to help you to come to the hotel.

This year's OnTheMove Federated Conferences and Workshops 2010 will be held at the Aldemar Knossos Royal Village Hotel and Conference Center in Hersonissou, Crete, Greece.

A special room rate was arranged for all OTM participants;

     - single use of a twin room: 79 EUR
     - double room (2 persons): 92 EUR

The OTM registration fee will this year also include full American buffet breakfast AND buffet lunch.

About Crete

How to get there

From Heraklion airport

The easiest way to reach Hersonissou is to fly into Heraklion international airport, directly or through a connecting flight from Athens. The conference is around 20 km from Heraklion.

You can reach the center of  Hersonissou by:

  • Taxi (around 35 Euros per way)
  • Shuttle bus
